It doesn’t matter how fast you type out a document if nobody reads it.

Great at Work: How Top Performers Do Less, Work Better, and Achieve More by Morten T. Hansen

I started somewhere, and for this blog, I started here.

And over time, people stumble across this blog despite the vastness of the web because of one relatable content or two.

Did you know I have already posted 823 blog posts, including this one? It might be a figure you couldn’t care less but what I’m trying to say is this:

If I stopped writing at the 30th blog post just because no one read any of my published content that day, you wouldn’t have stumbled across this one, my 823rd blog post.

The key is to keep writing and improving and letting your work out into the world so that someone somewhere can read it. You’d be surprised how glad they’d be just because you decided to show up.

And showing up isn’t just on your grand opening.

Showing up also means consistency.

I owe much of what I’ve become to Seth Godin, even if he doesn’t know me. I’ve learned much from his books, podcast, and daily blog. And I continued blogging daily because he showed me that writing is possible even if you don’t feel like writing.

I also thank Professor Patrick Barry for writing open-access books about how to be good with words and about unpleasant first drafts.

So I am here, and you’re here.

Thanks for reading!
