First class jitters

It took me some time to find my classroom, because the room I was looking for was somehow hidden from view, and I was probably overwhelmed and mentally skipped the sequence of numbers: 3109 should follow 3108. It must be the ‘first class’ jitters. Being 30 minutes early helped me acclimate, but as the door kept swinging and students poured in, I started to feel a little bit tense. It could be all the different languages spoken together that add to my bewilderment, or just the weird feeling that I have entered a classroom I am not supposed to be in. But when our class instructor entered the room, I felt a lot better, like I belonged.
