One said to another, “I’ve heard you’ve been traveling the world! I’ve always wanted to be in all those wonderful places, but I have never had the opportunity to go far.”
But who decides what opportunity comes along your way, anyway?
I could remember all the days and nights I spent daydreaming about being “somewhere else but here” because I always thought that to be where you want to be begins in the mind—the thinking and planning of how to make it happen.
It’s also true that we could only reach the parts we have access to. So, who opens these doors so we can get to the next level?
If you are a follower of Jesus, then I would say, God opens doors.
At the same time, I’ve been thinking a lot about what James 2:17 said, “So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective]. (AMP)”
So, I would add, like you would expect in gameplay, that “the door to the next level will open up for you once you are ready.”
Now, we become responsible for preparing ourselves for opportunities that would allow us to go far. This sense of accountability can cause others to feel helpless just because they don’t want to do the work.
Not all opportunities are visible. Some require you to break down walls and that needs preparation too.
