Letter no. 29

1–2 minutes

Dear reader from the future,

I can finally breathe open air again without feeling guilty about removing my mask in public spaces with fewer people to almost none.

Thanks to the President’s executive order, my lungs feel happier now that I can enjoy the smell of dew and green grass at the University.

COVID-19 even feels far away now too. It used to be a nightmare that changed the connected world and reshaped how we do things these days.

However, I wonder, years into the future, if you are wearing face masks today because your air has become so polluted that breathing in the open air is deemed unsafe. I just hope that my generation has succeeded in setting the groundwork to transition energy into a cleaner system.
