It’s true that it takes a neighborhood to raise goats. But if you’re raising them not as a pet but as a source of extra income, and end up treating them like pets anyway, letting them go feels like a breakup.
I also learned how our other goats felt sad or bad or distraught about Sam leaving. We all did. And it’s amazing to witness their ability to feel, even when they can move on quickly than we do.
