Dear reader from the future,

Though we’re still almost 15 days into the new year, it felt like the new year was a long time ago.

Sure, we began the year with expectations. So many things could happen in a year, right? But, then as we welcome the third week of the year, COVID cases continue to surge in the country. And many people I know starting to get it too.

Perhaps, it’s just a matter of when you’re going to get it?

Booster shots are on the rollout too. But for how long are we going to be at it? Dealing with this unseen enemy?

Perhaps, everything I’m talking about now may seem foreign to you. However, I hope that the health care system improved in so many ways that what happened to us would be just a thing of your past.

But as we always hear from people quoting Mark Twain, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.”

Your letter writer from the past,
Jessa
