Generational gap

1–2 minutes

It’s easy to be mad at people when you think they don’t understand where you’re coming from. And we always believe that people should know where we’re coming from.

As much as we wanted to have our voice (and ideas) matter, dealing with people isn’t as straightforward as we’d like it to be.

Especially when there’s this generational gap.

Expect that you will see things differently than the people who are years ahead of you.

That’s one of the reasons why we often think that our parents simply don’t understand. But perhaps, we are the ones who never tried to understand.

And like all relationships, there’s always this room of compromise just so the people we deeply care about and ourselves can meet halfway.

It doesn’t always have to be I win, you lose.

We can both win, even in the face of a generational gap.
