We often think that the generations that have come before us live a life that’s primitive compared to ours. And from this kind of thought, we become overconfident and too proud to listen to people we think are too old and can’t simply ‘relate’ with our generation.
But in reality, it’s our pride that leads to our downfall.
There are so many lessons from people who have come before us. And what we need is to listen intentionally to their stories and their beginnings.
Because we don’t have to start from scratch (so much for self-sufficiency).
What we’re supposed to do is to build upon what our ancestors have established, provided that it brings welfare to everyone involved directly or indirectly.
That’s how we move forward.
