Reflections on becoming

Revisiting connections

in

Ant trails.

If you tried paying attention to ants before, you’d notice that they follow a trail to get across between point A to B, and so on. And the path less traveled by will eventually vanish, only keeping the one that they mostly tread.

The same goes with connections we barely visit, be that friendships or family. Ties naturally die off without shared memories or shared structural context.

That’s why you don’t talk as much as you did with your colleague you used to spend lunch breaks with at work. Or your college classmate you used to hang out with.

But if you want to foster a lasting relationship, all it takes is to revisit connections, again and again, and again, just like how ants create and repair trail networks.
