Two orange pencils

If you are an orange pencil, unsharpened and unprepared for use, you will be left behind by the other orange pencil, which is already sharpened and ready as it can be.

Just because you have the same coat doesn’t mean you are both ready for the opportunity.

And just because you graduated with a degree celebrated by everyone else doesn’t mean that you are as competent as those who really understood that worth is not on the title but on the ability to do the work associated with the title.

It’s not enough to be an orange pencil. You should be ready to do the work too.
