“Mama, look at me! Look at me, Mama!” My three-year-old niece kept on nagging me while showing off how she tossed her balloon up and down.
When I was her age, I thought adults don’t want to have fun. (Such dull creatures.) Now that I am the adult looking into the child’s eyes, I realized that I don’t think like a child anymore, where play is where I can be most creative. With the years that I have acquired, the things that run in my mind now involve work, getting paid, building cash to raise a family of my own, and making my dreams become a reality.
But the joyful persistence of my niece nudged my heart into surrender.
I gave her my permission to get my attention. And you can imagine how it made her feel good.
Are you seeking attention just like a three-year-old too?
You’re right. We are all children on the inside.
However, these days, people beg for attention like three-year-olds.
But the thing is, you can never demand attention. Spamming gets trashed most (if not all) of the time. Attention is always given through permission.
And if you are reading this, thank you for granting me permission to take your time. Thank you for your attention.
