Helping a friend

1–2 minutes

Helping a friend could mean so many things, such as:

  1. I value our history together, so I am helping my friend.
  2. I support the beliefs of my friend, so I am helping.
  3. I am willing to make exceptions because it’s my friend’s.
  4. I am helping because I am benefitting from this.

And the list could go on and on depending on your narrative.

If you are motivated to help someone most of the time because you are getting something in return, it may not be as fulfilling as helping someone who can’t pay you back.

So, do not help someone because of the benefit you are getting.

Help someone because you can.
