Reflections on becoming

Letter No. 2

in

Dear reader from the future,

I am still writing this in Covid-19, but the difference is, I am finally home. That means that the noise I keep hearing now is from the birds, rooster crows, and occasional engine rumble from passing vehicles.

There are a lot of things I wish to share with you, and they are as follows:

1. Our cat brought her kittens on my bed one night. I don’t know what to make out of it, but other people have experienced it after searching for answers over the internet. They mentioned many reasons, but one stood out for me, where the mother cat wants you to keep an eye on her kittens while she is away. So, you might have guessed now that yes, I am kitten-sitting if there is such a term.

Do you like pets? I’d like to think you do.

2. I’d also like to share how the social media platforms are filled with so much hate these days. I don’t know what form they are taking now in your time, but right now, this quote from a book I’ve read resonates:

The business model of the press guarantees you will see more negativity than the facts support. Things are often better than they seem, especially in the long run.

3. I’ve enrolled myself in so many online courses for continuous learning. Sure, I have overestimated my future self, and now, I am reaping the consequences. I just hope to finish all of them before the year ends.

Do you still go to school? Or are classes already done online?

I’ll be writing again soon.

Your letter writer from the past,
Jessa
