Did you know?
A piece of music (a composition) has been playing continuously since midnight of 31 December 1999 and will continue without repetition until the end of 2999.
It’s called Longplayer, and it has been playing for 25 years (as of this writing).
You can listen to its live broadcast here or download the Longplayer iOS app here.
So, how did I come across Longplayer? I’ve been reading about long-term thinking (which you can read about in my previous blog posts), and the internet has linked me from one place to another, eventually leading me to a composition that spans many lifetimes.
It would be nice to think that this composition will continue playing even after I die, connecting me to my grandchildren’s children and their children and their children (you get the idea) until 2999 as they listen to the final parts of the composition before it restarts.
