It’s easy to be caught up in trivialities when your mind is only filled with meaningless trivia. And meaningless trivia takes up mind space, cluttering one’s headspace.
Have you ever talked to a person with a cluttered mind? They start to ramble and then eventually get lost in their rambling. They remember only the bits that make them good (or so they think) and wash their hands when their speech muddles with their perceived self. They always choose self-image over coherence.
What a way to confuse the confused and clutter the already cluttered mind.
No wonder we ought to choose our associations because a mind full of knowledge and wisdom fills and edifies. But an empty one only knows how to draw and take only to quench itself.
