Everyday Stories, Lived

De-stressing over the weekend

in

While drowning in a week full of mental load (because that’s simply what my job is mostly about), I thought about spending the weekend walking around campus, as a way to de-stress.

So when I pitched the idea to my husband during the weekdays, I was surprised by his quick response because, from what I can remember, the last time I told him about the same idea, he simply shut it down.

As the weekend approached (there was no turning back now), my husband reminded me to wake up early so we could be out early, walking from the apartment to the university.

On the anticipated day, I was surely pumped up to be out and about. There’s something about going out early while the rest of the world is still resting (or that’s how I thought about it then). When we arrived at the university, so many people had already been sweating hard, running and walking around the grounds, and that was just around six in the morning!

The energy emanating from all the people and various activities was so contagious I couldn’t help but be happy to walk around 13,000 steps that day.

And here are some photos I took:

I am also glad for my husband because he granted me this experience—to be out early with him and enjoy the sun (although I didn’t enjoy the tan as much after).
