A throwing party

1–2 minutes

I woke up from a stupor and realized how much trash had accumulated in the house.

They did not seem trash to me then, so I kept them. But I think the thing about clinging to stuff because it might be useful later is that time would never come. I’ve kept them for a year now, and they simply gathered dust.

So, today is the day when I gave in to the pleasure of cleaning up and disposing of the items I should have let go months ago. I just did not have the mental clarity before, but I do now.

I don’t need much stuff.

What I need is a real sense of belonging.

And stuff isn’t where we can find lasting fulfillment, can we?
