Everyday Stories, Lived

A note of frustration

in

I can’t remember when and how I learned about it, but writing down what you feel helps you sort your feelings and tone them down.

So, on one occasion (way back in college), when frustration wanted to overpower rationality, I penned a note about what I felt at the moment. Without care about order and grammar, I wrote and wrote until I couldn’t write any further. Seems I’ve already exhausted the emotion out of me?

Seeing my feelings translated into words, something my mind can read and reread, allowed me to think through things and think better.

Inhale, exhale.

Most of the time, putting words to your emotions helps you keep from acting out something you’ll later regret.
