Unecessary burdens

We often want to achieve so many things weekly that we tend to overestimate our future selves without accounting for downtimes. And without having these downtimes, we rob ourselves of the opportunity to recharge physically and mentally.

So, there are things we should learn to say no to, such as distractions that keep us from accomplishing the things we want to do. They should be the first ones to go. If you don’t keep yourself away from distractions first thing in the morning, you might find it hard to focus all day long. From experience, I procrastinate when I don’t get in the zone while working. And I don’t get in the zone if I keep context-switching. This could be your case too.

The next thing we should learn is to not overcommit, especially when you can say no. Even though something is far into the future, it will still require your time and effort when you get there. Another criterion that can help you decide when to say no is to identify if the thing you need to commit time and effort to aligns with your values. If not, then you can say no to that.
