Everyday Stories, Lived

Making time for the Lord

in

If you’ve imbibed what the world taught you about self-sufficiency, then there’s no room for what the Lord can accomplish in your life. Because you would believe that by your strength alone, you can achieve whatever you want.

And if you just create the right environment, and surround yourself with the right people, then what can possibly go wrong? You might just experience some hiccups along the way, but surely, you can get up because you have the will to carry on. But since you solely rely on your might, time is precious to waste, so there’s no time to do things for the Lord anymore.

However, the more I search myself in the being of the Sovereign God, I can’t help to see invisible forces at play. And no matter how you want to create a world you control, some things are beyond what you can control. So like how you surrender autonomy to the pilot in one of your intercontinental travels (or perhaps local ones), you do the same with your everyday life.

And just as how you ensure that you do things your way, you also ensure that you make time for the Lord. Because, in the end, the Lord can make a way when there seems to be no way.

Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:19 (NASB)

Trusting the Lord as you sow time for His glory, surrendering your cares upon Him, you will experience how making time for the Lord is never in vain.
