Everyday Stories, Lived

Living in greyscale these days

in

Days seem to blur out, with the partial lockdowns and travel restrictions.

And when you are the kind of person who doesn’t have any structure on what a day should look like, this is a tough time, especially for you.

I cannot speak for many people, but I can say something about what I am going through.

The separation, loneliness, and isolation really take an emotional toll. You might say that technology can address that, but I’d say nothing can replace a human touch. Even reading facial expressions is challenging these days. With all the masks on everybody’s face, everyone begins to look the same.

Now that most of us are in our homes, boundaries between personal and work become blur too. If you are just renting a small room in the city, then you’d probably be sleeping, working, and eating in the same space these days.

Though I have pushed for productivity in this kind of season, I realized that this is no ordinary time. While some worry about work setups, others think about their financial stability, family, and health. There might not be a one-size-fits-all solution, but as long as you choose to see the light at the end of the tunnel, there is hope.

Do you still see life in color?
