Reflections on becoming

Are you still living the same way like you were in college?

in

Some of us, admit it or not, vowed that we’ll change when we turn 30. With that, I mean that our lifestyle choices would be different now that we’re finally mature enough to know what should be done. We thought that becoming the responsible adult we ought to be would come naturally with age. But then, some of us still live our lives like we’re college students, waiting for mom and dad to become the parents we’ve grown up with.

I came to see myself in this situation and I realize that I am falling short from a well-lived life.

From Re-calibrating:

And graduating from college means that you probably can’t maintain the lifestyle you used to have…
None of these changes are failures. They’re simply steps in the journey.
We change. That’s part of the deal.
A well-lived life without calibration is unlikely.

I need to readjust how I live my life. Change must have been at work in other parts of me, but I still have a lot of work to do.

Indeed, we can entertain ourselves to death. But it’s important to do away with childish behaviors, act up and be responsible, to keep ourselves moving and build the world better for the next generation.
