If people ask you what you want to be in the next five years, you might answer how it would be the same or different from your today.
Some of you might want to change your world, and as a change seeker, you can’t just let it happen without dipping into the water. You don’t just complain about why other people are not taking responsibility and make change happen.
Instead, you have to be involved. You need to take part and contribute to making that change happen. Because we are not simply a victim of our circumstances. Indeed, we don’t get to choose which family we’re born into. However, we don’t just settle either.
From How to Think Like a Futurist:
To create something new or to make any kind of change, you have to be able to imagine how things can be different. Remember: The phrase “make a difference” literally means to make something different. And that’s the true power of thinking like a futurist: You develop the power to make your future different—whatever you want that difference to be.
The exciting thing about growth is that it changes us from the inside out. Sometimes, from the outside in. And when we do change, we are still the same person but altogether different.
It’s time to make a difference. And to keep the lever moving forward, you have to do something about the very thing you seek to change.
