The whole blog post was insightful and made me realize the difference between what I get from self-help books and the Bible. While most self-help books focus on loving ourselves, the Bible centers on loving God and others.

I have spent a day with a woman who was so filled with what the Bible says and hearing her speak felt like a gushing river flowing with life. Her energy and enthusiasm were refreshing and contagious.

Meanwhile, spending countless hours listening to a podcast about having a positive mindset did not produce the same kind of life. Even when you think you have consumed a lot of material, you’d still feel empty, so you’d desire for more but never get satisfied—a feeling of almost there but never getting there.
