Poking a wasp nest

When I was young, I learned that poking a wasp nest stirs the wasps, and the next thing you do is run away as fast as you can because the wasps will hunt you down.

The lesson I learned was that wasps are not aggressive until you disturb their peace.

And who doesn’t like peace, right?

But what if the wasps are doing more harm than good? And what if your job is to exterminate the nest? And what if the wasp nests are big corporations? And the people working in these corporations would hunt you down with lawsuits after stirring up the status quo?

Disrupting the nest creates a ripple effect that quickly escalates so they now see you as a threat. What was unbothered is now challenged and they will come after you with a swarm of legal advisors ready to protect their interests.

What a precarious position to be in!

How do we stir the pot just enough to start discussion and collaboration and convince the big corporations that cooperation is better than conflict, especially when profits drive and dictate their responses?
