Reflections on becoming

Visiting Utrecht University, Netherlands, virtually once a week

in

I wouldn’t have imagined attending a class in Utrecht, Netherlands, without leaving my house. And I wasn’t even in my house but in a rented apartment empty of household pets which I had dreamed of having.

But here I am, listening to internationals talk about global earth system governance and learning about the reality of complex systems and binding commitments that are almost always ending up in silos because of varying interests and priorities.

You know, I always dreamed of interacting with internationals because it makes the global village real for me. And attending these remote classes makes me feel like I am almost there. Yes, even blogging daily gives me a hint of what it is like to live in a connected world because I know this blog post would be read by you, who is most likely living outside my home country, miles away from where I am writing this from.

If only I could find my niche and my voice—I am still looking for it, like a lost earring. Maybe I’ll be there soon.

For now, I will continue attending my class in Utrecht while sitting in the apartment, drinking hot cocoa, writing about everything I wish to do in this short life, and shipping the work.
