Dear reader from the future,
With the recent events in the country, like the tension between China and the Philippines over territorial waters, I wonder what it would be like to live here ten years from now.
At the same time, I believe that the future is what we make of it, which led me to wonder whose version of history would really triumph.
What does it really mean to protect one’s sovereignty?
Peace is such a good thing we tend to overlook every day just because it is the norm. At the moment, I enjoy the liberty to live and pursue the kind of person I want to be. Waking up without a fear of dying from war is such a blessing.
But if the day would come when the order of business is to fight for our lives to live another day, I hope it would be shortlived.
Your letter writer from the past,
Jessa
