The little sparks before the fire

If you let the little sparks of annoyance vex you, you can feel how your nose starts to burn. And then your heartbeat picks up its pace.

You start to breathe in and out heavily as if the surge of your emotions cannot be contained.

Now, you are in a moment of choice: add wood and let it become fire, or spritz it to cool off?

And you say, “How do you add wood?” By engaging and venting out your anger. Is there anything good that comes out of the mouth of rage?

And you say, “How do you spritz it?” By disengaging from conflict and leaving the place of hostility. Walking away isn’t always a bad thing if it means keeping the relationships you have.
