“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English).”
Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Sometimes, I forget that I am not as young as I used to be. And that also means that I have lost most of the wonder I felt about so many things in life, except, of course, when traveling to a place I’ve never been before.
I remember being wide-eyed as a child, in awe about everything around me, eyes wide open to allow more light and information. But now, where I feel like I am too familiar with much about anything around me, I can feel my eyes drooping away.
I agree, how nice it is to have the wonder of a child, where everything may seem stranger and stranger before we get desensitized by the mundane and the ordinary.
