Hearing someone give excuses about why they have yet to do the work assigned to them, which was supposed to be turned over after a specific timeframe, the reasons only become wildly unreasonable. Because when working in an output-based job, it’s the employee’s responsibility to manage one’s time and deliver on or before schedule.
When the deadlines are unmet because of mismanaged time, excuses will become more and more absurd if the employee wants to justify the delay. That person did not commit an oversight but a deliberate choice not to work on what’s supposed to be done.
