The negotiables

It’s easy to be stern when things don’t go as planned, especially when things don’t unfold as you ought them to. But I realized there are so many things you can control, even when some are under the tips of your hands. Coordinating and working with people is more complex than a two-way street, much more when working with the weather.

So when working with complex systems, I learned the importance of setting my negotiables. These are the things that should be you’re okay to let go or be okay about them being a bit different than what you wish them to be.

Being clear with what your negotiables are could keep you from being frustrated when things throw surprises at you. And instead of focusing on everything that seems to go wrong, you can enjoy the twists and turns as you openly accept the surprises that come your way.
