Dear reader from the future,
I would like to share with you the airline passenger woes circulating around the country today.
An airline, as the news put it, has mastered the systemic betrayal of its passengers’ trust.
I have experienced the same woes, too, about canceled and rescheduled flights. And as an ordinary citizen, I am often left to just deal with it and accept it because I don’t have much power over it. However, this betrays my confidence in the airline and its dependability on delivering the service I have paid for.
And this leads me to the thought about delivering the product or service you promised to deliver. If you make it a habit to always use the same excuses whenever you fail to show up just because you can get away with it, the consequences will eventually compound. And the effects of systemic betrayal of trust often come in waves once the moment comes.
We will have moments where we pay back the consequences of our actions.
Maybe not now. But it will surely come.
And this brings us to think about the things we do and don’t do about climate change too.
Your letter writer from the past,
Jessa
