One of the most humbling experiences we had getting married was seeing our families and closest friends gather together to witness our union. And receiving their updates about going to the airport and how their flights went reminded us that wedding celebrations are not isolated between the couple but a community event (at least here in the Philippines).
In moments like this, when people gather together for you, you should play the part of a good host. And that means that you should express how grateful you are not because you want them to feel good but because you genuinely mean it.
The thing about gratitude, it never comes back empty.
