Road to Zerophoria: Journal entry from the future #4

in

I am spending 10 days in the future, and this is what my daily life like in the year 2033, where zero-waste laws are strictly enforced, and no one comes to pick up the trash anymore.

You can read more about this imagined future scenario here.

Today, my husband and I decided to visit this newly opened swap shop about 20 minutes from our house. I’m excited about this day out because it’s been a busy week, and this is our much-needed breather. At the beginning of 2033, swap shops looked like general merchandise stores that house anything and everything. But since July, people have started to create themes for swap shops. And this swap shop we’ll go to after lunch only takes electronic devices, which you can trade in for electronic parts. Word got out that it looked like a museum from the past, showcasing electronic devices industries don’t make anymore, making it worth the visit.
