Reflections on becoming

Flavors

in

Some foods please the eyes but aren’t appealing to the taste.

So much for buying this food, thinking it tastes as good as it looks.

Others don’t look as good as they could have been, but once it gets in your mouth, you’d want to have more of it.

Like the boring pork barbecue I had.

It looked so dull it did not make me excited at first glance.

But then, I felt all the flavors inside my mouth bite after bite.

Flavors.

I wouldn’t have noticed them if I did not chew and enjoyed them slowly.

And there are moments when we should have gone slowly to enjoy the simplicity of being.

Moments.
