If you are working far away from home, you understand what it feels like to celebrate your birthday far away from the people you care about the most.
Growing up, you realize that birthdays aren’t really about how much food you put on the table. It’s about how many guests you invite and not even the beautiful cakes you blow. (Hey, I already miss birthday cakes.)
We often celebrate birthdays because we want to gather with the people we call our family.
Birthdays are lovely when spent with family.
I’m grateful that I still have family here, even if I am far from home.
