Have you ever been in a situation where you know someone who knows someone who knows you too?

If you haven’t heard about the six degrees of separation yet, here’s a short definition from Wikipedia:

Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people are six or fewer social connections away from each other. As a result, a chain of “friend of a friend” statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps. It is also known as the six handshakes rule.

And being a part of this relationship network brings you opportunities you never imagined. But if you’ll only leverage these connections without doing the work, you might miss its benefit altogether.
