Everyday Stories, Lived

Feeling nostalgic about pixelated games?

in

When I was a kid, my aunt gifted me a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP. And it looked just like this:

It came with two game cartridges: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Minority Report.

And yes, I’ve spent countless hours playing these games up to the end of their storylines. There was really a satisfying feeling the moment you finished all the challenges and finally put the story to a close.

But my nostalgia primarily resides in playing Pokémon. Even if you have finished the entire game, you can still continue playing it as if you belong in that world. It’s so immersive that it played a significant role in my childhood. Weren’t you looking forward to finally having your Mach bike, then? It was a whole new world to explore!

I don’t know about you. But perhaps, you’ve spent your childhood leveling up your Pokémons too. And whatever version you played, this fan art project might evoke your childhood memories alive again.

Indeed, technology can change you in so many ways.
