When we didn’t have any choice but to stay in our homes a year ago, we felt lost. And for a time, we were unable to continue our lives the way we wanted to.
But then, being human, we learned to adapt and shape a new way of life. So we carried over online the things we couldn’t do together anymore. Who would have thought that watching a friend’s wedding or a funeral via live stream could be a norm? And wasn’t working from home only available for a select few?
So much has changed in almost two years into the pandemic. And now that things are starting to loosen up again (now that we have finally adjusted to a new norm), we wrestle as we try to revert to a new kind of old thing.
Doing things face to face again, such as going back to the office, is getting a backlash worldwide.
But, perhaps, it’s the change that we really resist. Because changing from one phase to another takes a lot of getting used to.
Even thinking about it is painful.
And like all transitions, pain is just a phase. You’ll get used to it (eventually).
