Being a kid is both exciting and challenging. Exciting because you know there’s so much ahead of you. Challenging because there are still so many things that you have to understand and learn.
When I was still in grade school, you’d usually see me writing about things I’d like to talk about in my notebooks. And that time, a hard-bound encyclopedia set was the closest thing I could access for the world’s information too. On top of that, you’ll occasionally see me perform public speaking (or speaking engagements), too (which I still continue to do today).
No, I am not a prolific writer, speaker, and researcher, you see. But ironically, I write and speak for a purpose, and I do research to keep the lights on. And it seems that whatever you spend your time doing (for years and years) becomes the very thing you end up (and enjoy) doing.
So what you do reflects your priorities in life, yes?
And far from the encyclopedia that I used to rely on for information and school publications to increase my audience, now I have access to even more updated information and a wider audience reach, thanks to the internet!
However, after almost three decades of learning to speak and write, I realized that I still needed to know more about them.
Perhaps, you’re wondering how to be good at speaking and writing too.
Fortunately, some generous people are willing to share what they know for free.
Below are the links for the open access eBooks written by Professor Patrick Barry, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Law from the University of Michigan.
I have taken one of his online courses in Coursera and enjoyed it as much as I learned a lot from him.
I hope you do too.
Here’s a cup of ☕ to becoming better.
