Reflections on becoming

What we do accumulates

in

You may tell yourself, “Just this once.”

But when you keep coming back to it, it becomes a habit. And when it becomes a habit, it becomes a routine.

Then you won’t think much about doing it anymore. You just do it.

That’s why you really need to pay close attention to what you expose yourself to or spend your time with. Because if you’re not, you might be caught up with doing things you don’t really want to be buried in or associated with in the long run.

Just scrolling your Facebook right after you wake up might not be harmless. But over time, it builds up. You’d be surprised by how much time you spend on social media rather than with the real people around you.

And even doing small lies now eventually makes you become a big liar later.

Being satisfied with mediocre work now removes you from the promotions list later.

But on another note, if you are persistent with delivering honest work or building up good habits and character (in the eyes of the law, the people, and the Lord), such things accumulate too.

Yes, what we do accumulates.
