Lies after lies

in

You can only cover up so much with a small patch of land.

The more you need to cover up a lot of things, the more you need some space.

First, you alienate people around you as you conceal the truth from them. And as you try to remember all the lies you’ve said, you grow fearful of slipping up one day because you understand deep inside that there’s no smoke that you can keep for long.

And the more you lie, the more you become weary of forgetting all the things you told people; afraid of confusing one with another.

Then, the anxiety of being discovered eats you up inside. So you try to distance yourself away from people, even from the ones who care deeply for you, so that you can keep your lies intact.

The thing about getting good with lying is that you become good about faking everything in front of people. However, the consequence on your part is the feeling of being so alone that even you start to feel alienated from yourself.

What is truth?

If you only choose to be honest with other people and yourself, you don’t have to remember anything at all.

Truth sets you free; lies imprison you.
