Everyday Stories, Lived

The pitch

in

If you’ve visited the vicinity of the Petronas Twin Towers, most probably, you’ve exchanged a few words with a marketer or two. They are the ones who offer to take your photo at a price, or better yet, to buy from them phone camera lenses like the ones they are using.

These marketers will try everything to convince you that they can take your ‘best’ angle with the majestic Petronas towering behind you. And they have a photo ready to prove you just that. If you are some tourist with cash to spare and at the same time convinced by the skill they showed you earlier, then you make the transaction happen.

Unlike the photo in this blog post (which I took myself, by the way), you end up having a perfect picture of yourself and the Petronas Twin Towers (less the glaring lights).

Here are the things I learned from the short hours I spent there:

1. Showing your work makes your idea pitch stronger than just talking about it.

2. You need to be convinced first about what you can do before you can convince somebody else.
