Reflections on becoming

Halloween, a pagan ritual

in

Halloween originated from a pagan religious festival, Samhain.

Attempts were made to reframe it as a Christian celebration, but it never did away its pagan aspects.

If you confess that you are a follower of Jesus, and still consider that Halloween is an innocent celebration, you better think again. Do your research. You might find this resource helpful.

You might even say that it is just a harmless tradition. But I believe that when the Spirit of God is in you, you will have the discernment to know the difference between what is righteous to God and what is not.

As Christians, we do not conform to the practices of the world. Instead, we live a life that glorifies the Name of the Lord.

As the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 says:

14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

15 Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

17 Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord. “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.

18 And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

Now that you know the truth and do nothing about it, then you are only fooling yourself.

Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.

James 1:22 NCV

There are only two influences in this world: God’s influence and the world’s evil influence. When you do not choose God’s, you already decided to be influenced by the other. There’s no in-betweens.
