They’re not just flowers

in

I haven’t met anyone yet, who buy themselves a bouquet. Well, I haven’t tried buying myself one, so there goes my personal bias about the matter.

Since I’ve been receiving them from my boyfriend, I started to fuss about what to do with them after receiving them. Do you get what I mean? Should you just let the flowers wilt in the wrap? What my mama taught me was to put them in a vase. But on most occasions, I do not have a vase. So I have to improvise.

How about you? What do you do whenever you receive flowers? Do you bother to keep them longer, while you can?

I think it’s good to keep them longer until they wilt and die. Especially when you only receive flowers on occasions. Because it shows how you appreciate and value the effort of the person who gave them to you. And I don’t think flowers are cheap either. For someone to give them to you, they surely meant to impress you.

So, the next time you receive a bouquet, consider that they’re not just flowers. They are also an expression of the love and generosity of your beloved.

Keep them while they last.
