Squeezing the daytime hours

Once you start moving, you find it enjoyable to keep moving, and you want to squeeze the daytime hours until all that’s left to do is rest; it’s time to wind down for tomorrow.

But while you are in the motion, you can’t help but think about all the things you could do, about all that’s possible and within reach (if you just reach out for them).

During my last trip to the northwestern Philippines, I remember how mentally engaging it is to be on the wheels. The total surrender of your autonomy and trusting the driver to take you from one place to another allows your mind to wander.

Seeing sunsets.

Seeing faces you’ll never remember.

Seeing places in a blur.

So many things are possible for those who have seen more.
