It’s easy to leave a side comment, which could evolve into a conversation, then into something you don’t have the heart to carry on.
How did we start here again?
A comment that you’ve never thought through or at least rehearsed mentally often doesn’t come as good as you have imagined. A snide comment here and there eventually makes you an irritation in the ear.
Are you supposed to leave a comment about everything?
It’s true when Proverbs 10:19 (NASB 1995) says, “When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.”
And the next thing you’ll know, that person lost confidence in you just because you don’t know when to stop talking.
