Spending time with old people is never wasted once you know what to do with it.
When you raise the right questions, you’ll be surprised to find rich stories of old, like how your grandparents came together or how it felt for them raising their children.
Talking with old people is also like visiting a musuem filled with memories and histories that guides you to make your own way in your lifetime. Their choices, no matter how they seem irrelevant at the time, are like ripples the affect our today.
And catching up with my grandma one fine morning was a gift I’ll remember. I’m just glad my boyfriend drove us to their house, and in a way, we reconnected with what has been.
Now we are making a new way forward.
