People can definitely tell you how practicing can help you better, and it will hit you differently.
“You need more practice” vs. “You’ll get better with practice.”
And every time, I feel like the former ends up like an annoyance–that your lack of ability is to blame. Meanwhile, I find the latter more encouraging and enabling.
I’ve met people who are natural teachers, and I am grateful to get involved with them. I believe that if not for their gentle feedback, I might lose heart. But, actually, they’re not just teachers. They’re more like inspirations because they open my mind to possibilities.
So, when you meet such people who inspire you to become better, consider yourself fortunate. Because there are people who would really want to trade places with you.
Be grateful.
